I have always loved sewing and being creative, so it was a natural thing for me to want to work with fabrics. After graduating with a BEd degree in Dress and Textiles, I began teaching Textiles in schools.
Once married and a mother, I took a long break from teaching and established myself designing and making bespoke bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and outfits for special occasions. I look back fondly at the photographs of all the things that I have made.
Some years later and with renewed enthusiasm and experience to call upon, I returned to the classroom and embraced teaching Textiles through Design Technology. Once again I was able to share my knowledge and enjoy helping students to be creative. I also developed my own computer design skills and found my love for machine embroidery.
Fast forward to today and I have again taken up the challenge and established my own business. Having taught myself to digitise embroidery patterns, I now combine computerised embroidery with traditional techniques to create my bespoke embroidered veils.
Every new veil brings a new challenge and I feel great satisfaction when seeing my own designs successfully being stitched out. It is a privilege to be asked to make a veil and exciting to see a brides reaction when seeing their veil for the very first time.
